Memews collects almost nothing about you, and the short version is that there is nothing here to opt out of. The detail is below.
No accounts, no cookies, no tracking
There is no sign-up and no login, so there is no account to hold anything about. The site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and loads no third-party scripts — no Google Analytics, no advertising tags, no social widgets, no trackers of any kind. Nothing about your reading is linked to you, because nothing about you is recorded to link it to.
What is counted
When a story scrolls past or you tap share, the site sends back one thing: the article's ID and whether it was a view or a share. Those become plain counters against the article, used to work out which stories to show first.
No identifier travels with them — no cookie, no device ID, no session, nothing derived from your address. The counters record that a story was seen a thousand times, never who saw it, and there is no way to reconstruct one person's reading from them.
Server logs
Like any web server, ours records requests as they arrive, and those records include the IP address the request came from. They exist to debug faults and absorb abuse, they are not joined to the counters above or to anything else, and they are not used to build a profile of you or sold to anyone.
Images and links
Story images are served from the publishers' own servers, so displaying a card fetches an image from them and they see that request the way any site hosting an image does. Following a link takes you to the publisher's site, which has its own privacy policy and its own trackers — once you leave, what happens is between you and them.
Children
Memews is a general news service, not directed at children, and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Rights to access, correct or delete personal data all need personal data to act on, and we hold none that identifies you. If you believe otherwise, or want something explained, get in touch and you will get a straight answer.
Changes
If what the site collects ever changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes will not be made quietly.
