♟️ Young chess star bounces back after ankle injury
Alireza Firouzja, a 23-year-old grandmaster, faced a difficult spell after twisting his ankle in Bucharest, Romania, earlier this year. The injury sidelined him during the Grand Chess Tour in Romania, forcing him to calculate from a bed. Despite this, he recently visited India twice, participating in the Chennai Grand Masters and the GCL in Bengaluru. Firouzja is now fully recovered and is set to compete in the Total Chess Championship from November 10 to 21, 2026, in Budapest.
