science 🔬 X(2370) particle spotted as glueball candidate
The BESIII Collaboration announced the identification of the X(2370) particle as a pseudoscalar glueball at a conference in Brazil. This finding was achieved by researchers from the BESIII experiment. The team used data from 10 billion J/ψ particles collected since 2008, confirming the spin-parity quantum numbers as 0−+ in 2024. This result validates the non-Abelian gauge structure underlying the strong force in quantum chromodynamics. Future work will build upon this evidence to understand how gluons form entirely new types of matter.
