science 🔬 Wood waste becomes nanocellulose for farming and healing
Researchers successfully converted wood sawdust waste into nanocellulose using a sequential chemical process. This was tested across applications including sustainable agriculture and environmental remediation in various settings. The nanocellulose exhibited high crystallinity and was tested on barley, showing varied growth impacts. It was also used to test dye removal efficiency and wound healing potential in mice over 10 days. These findings point toward utilizing wood residue for multiple high-value uses. 🌿
