health 🩺 Weight-loss drug boosts treatment for arthritis
New data shows combining tirzepatide with biologic therapy improves outcomes for obese psoriatic arthritis patients. This study was conducted at tertiary care rheumatology centers, enrolling patients from January 2025 onwards. In the six-month analysis, the tirzepatide group saw significantly better symptom control compared to controls. Specifically, 48% of the tirzepatide group achieved acceptable symptom state versus only 21% of the controls. These findings suggest addressing obesity pharmacologically at the start of biologic treatment could be beneficial. 🩺
