๐ง Vertebral artery risks mapped out in 3D scan
This study analyzed 3D anatomical variations of the V3h artery to improve surgical safety during the low retrosigmoid approach. Researchers used 10 cadaveric specimens and 217 clinical CTA datasets for this multimodal study. Mean distances measured were 8.77 ยฑ 2.34 mm (V3h-C1) and 7.78 ยฑ 2.72 mm (V3h-OC) as of August 31, 2026. The findings show significant V3h variability, with Type IV being the most common protrusion type observed. These results suggest that personalized preoperative CTA assessments are vital for safe procedures. ๐ง
