business ⛽ Venezuelan oil won't fix US gas prices yet ⛽
The U.S. secured control over Venezuelan fields with over 65 billion barrels of oil, aiming to boost supply and lower gasoline costs. This deal was announced by Trump, who also mentioned using the crude to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. While Venezuelan crude is useful for Gulf Coast refineries, production increases are constrained by infrastructure needs. The immediate price issue is refining capacity, not crude supply, as global supply is tight. Therefore, while it helps crude costs, it cannot instantly increase gasoline output.
