ποΈ US Senate pushes tariffs on Russia's oil buyers
The U.S. Senate overwhelmingly passed a bill to penalize Russia and major buyers of its energy products. This bipartisan legislation, the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, was approved by an 86-11 vote. It allows President Trump to impose 100% tariffs on goods from top five importers, including India, effective until 2031. The act also aims to sanction Russian leaders like Vladimir Putin and extends Iran sanctions until 2031. The bill now moves to the House of Representatives for approval on August 31.
