Urine tumour DNA (utDNA) testing has shown it can identify patients at higher risk of bladder cancer recurrence after BCG treatment. This was found in a multicentre study involving patients treated for high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Forty percent of 57 patients tested positive before treatment, showing worse survival rates compared to negatives. Post-treatment, 19% of clinically negative patients remained utDNA positive, facing much lower survival. This molecular detection can lead by 4.1 months before clinical diagnosis, suggesting personalized care options. π§¬
