india π UP to boost research on ancient Indian knowledge systems
Uttar Pradesh has announced plans to set up dedicated research chairs focusing on Indian knowledge traditions. This initiative targets eligible universities and colleges across the state to deepen scholarship and preserve rare texts. The government specified that institutions must be over 50 years old, have more than 5,000 students, and be UGC recognized. Each successful research chair will receive a one-time grant of Rs 2 crore for a five-year period. This effort aims to establish Uttar Pradesh as a global hub for Indian knowledge while supporting youth research. ποΈ
