π¨ University targets scholar who exposed professor's plagiarism
Ghent University announced it will take "appropriate action" against postdoc Nathan Cofnas following the death of Cambridge professor Jason Arday. Cofnas, a philosopher of biology, publicly revealed plagiarism in Arday's work in a Substack post in late July 2026. Arday, who was Cambridge's youngest Black professor, resigned in early August amid scrutiny before being found dead. Ghent University stated on 19 August 2026 it was taking Cofnas's statements very seriously. The university has not shared further details on the nature of the action as of 20 August 2026.
