health π©Ί Ultrasound rivals MRI for endometriosis detection
A prospective study found that ultrasound shows diagnostic accuracy similar to MRI for detecting endometriosis lesions. This research was conducted on 463 women at a tertiary referral centre between April 2021 and May 2024. Ultrasound achieved high sensitivity and specificity across various Enzian compartments, comparable to MRI's results. Furthermore, ultrasound showed higher exact concordance with laparoscopic severity grading than MRI in several instances. These findings suggest ultrasound could be a strong tool for preoperative assessment. π©Ί
