US President Donald Trump omitted Pakistan from the list of countries involved in Washington-Tehran talks on Monday. He credited Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar for supporting the diplomatic push, stating it was Iran's "last chance." Despite this, Pakistan quickly moved to reinforce its role as a mediator between the two sides. Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Ministry endorsed Pakistan's existing mediating capacity in US-Iran issues. Pakistan's officials followed up by inviting high-level Iranian figures to Islamabad for regional consultations.
