😡 TNCC slams Centre over missing MGNREGS funds
The TNCC president, Manickam Tagore, accused the BJP-led Union government of holding back ₹2,087 crore for MGNREGS. This issue was raised by Mr. Tagore in a social media post citing RTI information about the Centre’s treatment of Tamil Nadu. For the April 1 to June 30, 2026-27 period, Tamil Nadu spent ₹1,804 crore, providing work to 31.47 lakh workers. He noted a steep decline in central funds, dropping to ₹6,254 crore in 2025-26 from ₹13,395 crore in 2023-24. Tagore urged the Centre to release the pending funds immediately to support rural livelihoods.
