business ✈️ TN drops Parandur airport plan for farmers
Chief Minister Joseph Vijay announced that Tamil Nadu will abandon the Parandur airport project following resident objections. The decision was made in the state Assembly, with the project located in Kancheepuram district. Currently, the existing Meenambakkam airport handles about 30 million passengers annually. Vijay emphasized supporting farmers and stated the new airport must minimize agricultural land acquisition. The state government will now search for an alternative site for Chennai's second airport.
