✈️ TN drops Parandur airport, Chennai gets fifth terminal
The Tamil Nadu government has canceled the proposed greenfield airport project at Parandur, according to Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday. New locations are currently under consideration, and expert teams will conduct a technical feasibility study for the new site. The CM criticized the previous DMK government for selecting a site that required mass relocation and impacted agriculture. Concurrently, the government plans to build a fifth terminal at Chennai airport on the north-western side. This expansion aims to handle an extra 20 million passengers annually, boosting total capacity significantly.
