Tamil Nadu's Housing and Urban Development Minister B Rajkumar announced several major reforms regarding urban housing and digital governance on Friday. These changes involve digitizing the land-use change application process across the state. Specifics include expanding self-certification up to 5,000 sq ft for residential buildings and raising local body approval limits. Furthermore, the Urban Habitat Development Board plans to reconstruct 12,648 dilapidated flats at a cost of Rs 2,882.62 crore. Borrowers in primary cooperative housing societies will also benefit from interest waivers and a broader waiver scheme.
