business ๐ต๏ธ Tirumala ghee probe: ED finds no animal fat
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) named six adulterants used in the Tirumala ghee case, confirming none were animal fats. The probe agency arrested Kailash Chand Mangla, promoter of Sukriti Foods Pvt Ltd, in connection with the alleged fraud to TTD. The ED revealed adulterated ghee used refined palm oil and chemicals like MG-90, with supplies valued near Rs 230 crore between 2019 and 2024. This follows earlier claims in September 2024 that the ghee contained beef tallow, triggering media controversy. The ED investigation now points towards synthetic ghee and financial fraud rather than animal fat contamination. ๐ต๏ธ
