Researchers in Japan found that thousands of microscopic particles can move by breaking Newton’s action-reaction symmetry. The study was conducted by Yutaka Sumino and Kiwamu Yoshii at Tokyo University of Science. They observed over 10,000 colloidal particles for more than an hour under an alternating electric field. This imbalance caused particles to form self-propelled pairs that continuously rearranged instead of growing into huge clumps. These findings could impact biological systems and new microrobotic technologies. 🔬
