health ๐ฌ Testicular cancer impacts sperm quality before treatment
A new study revealed that sperm quality is already significantly impaired in many men with testicular cancer before treatment starts. Researchers analyzed 126 men diagnosed with testicular malignancies who underwent orchiectomy between 2017 and 2023 in this study. At diagnosis, patients showed lower sperm concentration and motility compared to healthy controls. Furthermore, freezing and thawing samples caused a major reduction in sperm quality post-procedure. The findings stress the need for early fertility counseling for men with testicular cancer.
