Tata Sons board members unanimously agreed on forming a committee to examine options for RBI compliance for upper-layer NBFCs. This decision was made by directors at the Mumbai meeting, following discussions about avoiding a public listing. Tata Sons had assets of Rs 2.01 lakh crore as of March 31, 2026, exceeding the threshold. The committee, including external members, will roadmap compliance after the board considers its findings.
