π₯ Tamil Nadu boosts health insurance coverage big time
Tamil Nadu Health Minister K.G. Arunraj announced that the CMCHIS insurance coverage will soon increase from βΉ5 lakh to βΉ25 lakh. This enhancement applies to beneficiaries across the state, and existing insurance cards will remain valid. The increase in coverage will not lead to a five-fold rise in premiums because fewer families are expected to claim advanced treatments. Furthermore, IVF centres will be expanded to more district government hospitals as part of the ongoing budget plan. The Minister also assured the public that necessary precautions are in place regarding H1N1 and dengue risks.
