π§Έ Talking to toys: When is it normal play?
Talking to toys or imaginary friends is usually a normal part of childhood pretend play, helping practice communication and social skills. For most kids, this imaginary friendship is common and does not automatically signal loneliness. Parents should seek pediatrician advice if the friend causes distress or threatens self-harm. Significant changes in sleep, eating, or social interaction are also warning signs. Instead of banning them, parents can use curiosity to engage with the child's imaginary world. π§Έ
