π¬ Stem cell EVs fight eye damage from oxidative stress
MSC-derived extracellular vesicles effectively protected ARPE-19 cells against oxidative damage caused by H2O2 treatment. This research was conducted by several authors at The Aga Khan University in Karachi. The study details results from September 24, 2026, showing significant cell protection mechanisms. The EVs reduced ROS and decreased the pro-inflammatory marker IL-6 while boosting IL-10. This suggests EVs hold promise as a safe, cell-free therapy for eye diseases.
