science π°οΈ Starlab mockup lands in NASA's training hub
A full-scale, multi-level mockup for Starlab is now occupying real space inside Building 9 at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. This structure, which supports the habitat, is part of a transition toward commercial space stations. The mockup is designed for astronauts and engineers to inhabit and test the design's functionality. It is nearly eight metres in diameter and 17 metres long, with about 400 cubic metres of habitable volume. The installation began in January 2025, utilizing about 2,400 square feet of permanent floor space. π
