🤢 Spices laced with cloth dye and talcum powder found in Hyderabad
Over 25,000 kg of hazardous, chemical-laced spices were seized during raids conducted by the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team. The raids targeted 13 establishments in Hyderabad, leading to the arrest of three individuals on Tuesday. Officials discovered the use of cloth dyes, talcum powder, and synthetic colors in spices like cloves and shahjeera. These findings violate the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, leading to criminal cases being registered. Enforcement drives will continue to dismantle these adulteration networks to ensure consumer safety. 🤢
