science π South Korea eyeing Earth-Moon space mission
South Korea's Korea AeroSpace Administration plans to launch a science probe by 2031 to study the cislunar region between Earth and the Moon. This mission aims to expand space environment monitoring beyond low-Earth orbit into the Earth-Moon space. KASA announced this heliospheric exploration plan at the COSPAR 2026 General Assembly in Florence, Italy. The probe will observe the magnetotail to fill data gaps and support space weather forecasting. They will discuss collaboration with eight countries, including NASA and ESA, at the assembly. π°οΈ
