health 🔬 Smart tech developed to spot Alzheimer's early
Scientists at JNCASR in Bengaluru have created a smart probe called TZ-48 for detecting Aβ fibrils. This probe allows highly selective and sensitive detection using turn-on fluorescence and distinct lifetime signatures. TZ-48 works well in mouse brains and can also detect Aβ in CSF and blood serum. The team developed ADxFluor, a smartphone-integrated platform, for rapid quantification of serum Aβ load. This creates a portable, low-cost point-of-care diagnostic system for Alzheimer's. 🧠
