π΄ Sleep beats screen time for teen success, study finds
A new UC Davis Health study suggests that sleep quality matters more for teen success than screen time or diet. Researchers examined 10 to 13-year-olds to see how lifestyle factors link mental health to school and social functioning. Sleep emerged as the strongest factor, accounting for 36.3% of the association with anxiety. Screen time was the second strongest factor, impacting mental health outcomes at 5% for anxiety. Healthy sleep routines offer a practical way for families to support a child's daily emotional well-being.
