health π€ Should shingles vaccine be free for everyone?
Shingles, a painful viral rash, is seeing more cases reported in younger adults aged 25β49 in recent years. Currently, the vaccine is free for those 65+ and high-risk groups, while the cost for others is around A$560 for two doses. Experts were consulted to discuss expanding this free coverage given the rise in younger infections. Four out of the five experts consulted advised against making it universally free for all adults. The debate continues on whether to broaden vaccine accessibility.
