Supreme Court Judge Prasanna B Varale questioned Maharashtra's education spending while addressing an event in Dhule district. He suggested that 0.1% of the Nashik Kumbh expenditure could have saved 100 to 125 Marathi schools. The Kumbh Mela is allocated between Rs 32,000 crore and Rs 34,000 crore, with Rs 11,000 crore spent on corridor projects. Varale emphasized that basic facilities and primary education are fundamental rights for every citizen. He urged focus on school infrastructure given the state's low education budget percentage. π«
