โ๏ธ SC Judge: Kumbh funds could save 100+ schools
Supreme Court Judge Prasanna Varale expressed worry over declining Marathi-medium school conditions and poor education infrastructure. While visiting Shirpur in Nashik district, he noted the state's spending on Kumbh Mela infrastructure. He stated that just 0.1% of the Kumbh allocation, around Rs 32 crore, could have saved over 100-150 Marathi schools from closing. Varale highlighted the pathetic state of residential schools and the need for modernizing classrooms. He stressed that education spending must increase to match the growing student population needs. ๐
