science π Roman Telescope launch set for Sunday
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is set to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. The mission is taking off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Liftoff is scheduled for no earlier than 7:26 a.m. EDT on Sunday, Aug. 30, from Launch Complex-39A. This observatory will research dark energy and search for exoplanets for future discoveries. Should Sunday's launch be delayed, an alternative window opens on Monday, Aug. 31, at 7:22 a.m. EDT.
