ποΈ Rijiju says India isn't a 'banana republic'
Union minister Kiren Rijiju strongly criticized opposition over the foreign funding regulatory bill. He stated that India is not a 'banana republic' and that rules are necessary for spending foreign funds. The proposed legislation, aimed at managing foreign funding to NGOs and curbing proselytisation, was referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee on Wednesday. The bill, which seeks to monitor foreign capital flow, was sent to the JPC by the Lok Sabha for deeper review. The committee of 31 members will submit its report by the end of the first week of the Winter Session in 2026.
