india ⚖️ Rajasthan HC mandates appointment 21 years later
The Rajasthan High Court directed authorities to consider a compassionate appointment 21 years after the father's demise. Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Kumar and Justice Chandra Shekhar Sharma heard the case of Umesh Singh v the Director, CSIR- Central Electronics Engineering Research Institution, Pilani, Jhunjhunu. The father, a technician, passed away when the appellant was 2.5 years old, leaving the family in financial distress. The Court ruled that mere survival does not prove the financial crisis ended, and the application was made within a reasonable period. Consequently, the appeal was allowed, forcing the respondent department to consider the appointment. ⚖️
