π Quick movement boosts health against type 2 diabetes
Short bursts of daily activity can lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes in adults. Researchers analyzed data from 22,706 participants in the UK Biobank, who reported no leisure-time exercise. Findings showed a median 3.9 min/d of VILPA linked to a 36% lower risk over a 7.9 year follow-up. This suggests that incidental physical activity offers a practical alternative for inactive adults. Future focus can be on promoting these micropattern activities in daily routines.
