Russian President Vladimir Putin guaranteed India steady energy and fertilizer supplies amidst the West Asia conflict disruptions. This assurance was given during a meeting in Moscow between Putin and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday, August 24, 2026. Bilateral trade has surged to nearly $60 billion in 2025-26, but the trade imbalance has widened to over $50 billion. Jaishankar stressed fixing this imbalance is a priority to reach a $100 billion trade goal by 2030. Both nations are also pushing for cooperation in nuclear energy and high-tech projects moving forward.
