business ✊ Punjab workers plan major shutdown over pay issues
Seven lakh Punjab government employees and pensioners are calling for a 'Maha bandh' on August 27. This action is being organized by unions affiliated with the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front across the state. The strike follows demands for pending DA release and full Old Pension Scheme implementation amid state debt of Rs 4.47 lakh crore. Employees are also asking to review salary scales matching the Central Government pattern and withdraw the three-year probation period. Leaders warned that if demands are ignored, the agitation will intensify further. ✊
