india 💧 Prayagraj flooding: High Court steps in to fix waterlogging
The Allahabad High Court ordered the Municipal Commissioner and District Magistrate of Prayagraj to pump out accumulated rainwater from low-lying areas. Justice Ajit Kumar and Justice Garima Prashad passed this direction after hearing a suo motu petition about the severe waterlogging. This action followed the Municipal Commissioner citing difficulties in using Morri Gate and Daraganj pipelines. The Court also directed the Director, Local Bodies, UP, to file an affidavit on the city's flood relief plans. A status report on the rain-induced flood situation must be presented to the Court on August 20.
