india π¨ Police raid 26 spots in J&K following terror attacks
Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a massive crackdown on Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) across Sopore. This operation, assisted by the CRPF, involved simultaneous raids at 26 locations in Sopore town and surrounding villages. The searches are part of an ongoing probe under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This action follows a series of terror attacks, including incidents on July 22 and a subsequent attack in Kulgam district. The Ministry of Home Affairs had banned JeI in 2019 and extended the ban again in February 2024.
