✈️ Pilots' Union Asks For Higher Drug Testing Rate
The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has requested the DGCA to increase annual drug testing for pilots from 10% to 25%. This request was sent by FIP President Captain CS Randhawa to DGCA chief Vir Vikram Yadav in New Delhi. FIP identified medicines that could impair flight safety by causing drowsiness or reducing alertness. They are also asking DGCA to consider validated oral-fluid testing alongside the current urine testing system. This move aims to ensure continuous safety assurance for pilots entrusted with lives.
