The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued a clarification regarding social media claims about ethanol-blended petrol contamination. This statement addressed concerns across the fuel supply chain by detailing rigorous quality control measures implemented nationwide. Currently, water ingress testing happens 8-12 times daily at over 87,000 retail outlets, and 2,000 samples were tested for contamination. Since July 2024 to June 2026, 302 tank trucks carrying 10,500 kilolitres were rejected for failing purity standards. The Ministry assured that strict action will be taken against any outlet found engaging in adulteration.
