A Phase II trial showed that adding FDA-approved anti-obesity medication helped breast cancer survivors who didn't lose weight initially. This study was conducted by Sheng et al in Clinical Cancer Research involving women with stage 0 to III breast cancer. Of 53 participants, 72% hadn't met the 5% weight loss goal after two months of lifestyle intervention alone. Tailoring treatment based on early response can help more survivors achieve meaningful weight loss and lower health risks. Future larger studies are needed to confirm this adaptive treatment strategy's effectiveness. π©Ί
