π° Pakistan restricts foreign journalists outside big cities
Pakistan has introduced new rules requiring foreign journalists to get an NOC before traveling outside Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. This mandate is enforced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) for international media personnel operating in the country. The guidelines specify that travel within Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi is exempt from the NOC requirement. These restrictions come amid increased scrutiny following unrest during the local election process in PoK. Human rights groups have voiced concerns over these tightened press freedom curbs. π°
