π¦ Ospreys finally bred in southern England after years
Conservationists moved young ospreys from Scotland to Dorset starting in 2017 to boost the population. This project was run by the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Birds of Poole Harbour in southern England. A study showed that 'pioneering pairs' spread the species, leading to the first breeding since 1847 in 2022. The research indicates that creating these pioneering movements can speed up wildlife recovery significantly. Planners now aim to build more artificial nests to encourage further spread along the south coast. π¦
