ποΈ Nuclear plant buffer becomes public trails for $42M
Two thousand sixty coastal acres near Diablo Canyon will become a nature preserve after a $42 million deal. This land, located above Avila Beach in San Luis Obispo County, is being acquired by the Wildlands Conservancy. The state agreed to provide the funds to the nonprofit land trust on Thursday. Previously eyed for luxury homes, the area will now feature trails and campsites, protecting Native American sites. The preserve is slated to open to the public within five years, pending future developments. ποΈ
