π§ͺ New way to make H2O2 using light π‘
Researchers have developed a bias-free photoelectrochemical bipolar system for generating hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). This system integrates a Zn-TiO2/BVO/WO3 photoanode and a Ru:CuO/Nb-CBO photocathode. The anode achieved a Faradaic efficiency (FE) of 90.2% at 0.6 VRHE, while the cathode showed an FE of 91.9% over 50 hours. Testing under natural sunlight yielded an FE of 163.37% and a yield of 11.44 mmol Lβ1. The resulting H2O2 showed over 99% bacterial inactivation in just 60 minutes.
