health π§ New US guidelines update migraine drug treatments
US doctors have updated their guidelines for treating migraine attacks after 14 years of research. These new recommendations incorporate treatments targeting CGRP, a protein linked to migraines. Some of these novel drugs have shown a significant reduction of nearly 70 per cent in migraines over time. The updated guidelines, released on 31 August by the American Academy of Neurology, focus heavily on prevention. Importantly, the guidelines also advise against certain drugs during pregnancy due to safety concerns. π
