π¬ New score spots heart condition before tests
A new diagnostic tool, the BioTAK score, can now identify Takotsubo syndrome before invasive catheterization. This research was conducted by an international team collaborating with Zurich and Greifswald universities. In an independent study of nearly 1,800 patients, BioTAK correctly classified almost 90% of participants. The score uses blood biomarkers and biological sex to spot the condition, which mimics a heart attack. Researchers hope this will guide procedures and improve early diagnosis in the future. π¬
