science ๐ฌ New physics unlocks secrets of atomic nuclei
Physicists at Osaka Metropolitan University completed a full calculation using Glauber theory for high-energy nuclear collisions. This work involved protons, helium, and carbon nuclei, with results matching experimental data from carbon-12 collisions. The study, published in Physical Review Letters on May 18, showed the full calculation is accurate. Furthermore, they found that two terms of a cumulant expansion are enough for close approximation. This provides a reliable benchmark for future nuclear experiments. ๐ฌ
